Updated Movie Tralier

So far we have 90% of our footage shot for our movie trailer. So right now we are going to start working on editing the film and putting it in order. After that we are going to focus on color correction. We want it to have that grundgy, blue tint that drama movies have. Does anyone have an idea or tip on how to do that? After we complete that we are going to add special effects to it.

Movie Tralier

My project is a joint project with Bobby Farrell. We will be making a movie trailer. We are shooting with an Canon XLR and will be capturing and editing in Final Cut Pro. If time allows, we will make an interactive Flash page for the trailer. It is a suspense movie so it will be shot very dramatic. We will use dark lighting, orchestrated music, and special effects.

Manovich

The article by Lev Manovich was very interesting. Mostly because I agreed and understood exactly what he was talking about when he described the drastic shift in certain technologies such as cell phones and computer design. I am at an age that remembers the time when these innovations became started to become increasingly popular. I remember the old cell phone by parents use to have to be a big plastic block. To look at it now would make me laugh. Its amazing that in such a short amount of time they were able to condense so much information into the sleek and advanced phones that they have now. Phones serve multi-purposes now. You can text, call, surf the web, take pictures, listen to music and play games. This is what Manovich was referring to when he said that phones serve more for entertainment then for a means to and end. The interaction in the process of getting to communicate with another is an experience on its own.
Reading over the OS X portion was very entertaining at all because as a Mac User I was immediately drawn to the beautiful design of the computer and the interface of the operating system. Its beauty appealed to and stimulated my senses just like Manovich said. I fell in love with Apple products not just because they were extremely efficient but because they were aestheticly pleasing as well.

Interactive Media

My choice of an interactive media example is this website.

http://www.beonlineb.com/click_around.html

This website is an interactive music video. You can click on the persons hands or head and it makes it do something different. At one point, when the light shines down on the hand you can move the light where ever your mouse is. This website is very entertaining because you dont know what to expect next and you are in charge of what the guy does in the video.
